About Us

The South London Freight Quality Partnership (SLFQP) brings together all the main stakeholders in the freight industry across South London.

SLFQP’s stated vision is, "To develop a common understanding of freight transport issues among the membership and promote constructive solutions which reconcile the need for access to goods and services with local environmental, social and safety concerns".

The partnership’s plan takes forward the national strategy and FQP best practice guidance across South London. It considers the Mayor of London's spatial development, air quality, transport and noise strategies, as well as the relevant London Boroughs’ air quality action plans.

The South London Freight Quality Partnership spans the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Merton, Sutton, Croydon, Bromley, Lewisham, Richmond upon Thames and Kingston upon Thames. All these London Boroughs have identified potential benefits from the SLFQP. Key stakeholders include the local authorities governing these areas, together with representatives of regional government, the freight Industry and the local business community.

SLFQP agrees and implements initiatives to improve air quality, raise safety, reduce noise and increase the operational efficiency of freight transport locally. Examples of the specific activities it has undertaken or is currently pursuing include:

    * Freight Industry Stakeholder Surveys

    * Freight Consolidation Centre Feasibility Study

    * Construction Logistics Strategy

    * Loading / Unloading Code of Practice
